So many Australians...

London is covered in Australians... There's this program between the two countries that sends their young people back and forth to work crappy jobs in bars and hotels. Seems super right? Just what I want to do- go to the other side of the world and work in a hotel...

I met all the people in my program yesterday- they all seem ok. It's 13 women, very differing backgrounds- not all archaeologists. Afterwards there was a party with free booze from the Institute. Like good archaeologists (the entire graduate dept was there- about 200 people) we drank until they kicked us out and then took all the leftover beer to the school's student union. This went fine until the place started filling up some 2 hours later and then some angry guy started kicking out the guys that they thought had brought in the beer. Only guys though, and the beer was already gone.. Anyway, I was drunk enough to take offense and after I couldn't get away from some PhD student who kept cornering me I decided to go home.

Some things I learned from yesterday- Friday is "cake" day with the program. So once a week people bring in something they cooked. Casey's gonna get fat! Also, the student union has cheap beer, although if you ask for a cheap beer they'll give you warm light beer. Tastes like ass. The cheapest food/drink around here is found on campus. Unlike Suny, they don't gouge you on prices.

I finished my purple scarf and if I ever get the knot out of my green yarn I'm going to start that.

Listen people, all posts can't be winners.
